Disaster Distress Helpline

The occurrence of natural and man-made disasters has increased in the U.S and its territories by 39% over the past decade. . The psychological impact these events have on a significant proportion of people who experience them informs us of the need for a disaster behavioral health hotline network to provide disaster crisis counseling, information and referral in any part of the country.

The Mental Health Association-New York City/Link2Health Solutions (L2HS) established the Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH), to provide free, confidential and multilingual, 24/7 crisis support services.
